Installation guide for UptoLog Log Server
This page describes how
UptoLog Log Server
is installed.
Important:
UptoLog Database
must be installed before UptoLog Log Server is installed.
Software requirements
UptoLog Log Server can be installed and run on Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2 with .NET Framework 3.5.
UptoLog Log Server supports Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.* and higher.
The UptoLog servers UptoLog Log Server and UptoLog Search Server can be installed on the same web server
or on different web servers.
Installation instructions
UptoLog Log Server is installed in a virtual directory on a web server by running UptoLog Log Server
installation file on the web server. During the installation the wanted web site is selected and
the name of the virtual directory is stated, default name is UptoLog-LogServer. Likewise the access
to UptoLog Database is configured.
Virtual directory set-up
After the installation the configuration of the virtual directory, where UptoLog Log Server is installed, is checked.
Enable anonymous access
The virtual directory must be configured to use anonymous access. This is done through properties in the
virtual directory. In the Properties window the Directory Security tab is selected and Edit in
the Authentication and access control group is pressed. In the Authentication Methods window
Enable anonymous access is selected.
Use .NET 2.0
The virtual directory must be configured to use .NET 2.0. This is done through properties in the
virtual directory. In the Properties windows the ASP.NET tab is selected and 2.0.* is selected
for ASP.NET version.
